Tashua Knolls Golf Course, Trumbull
About 15 minutes from New Haven, Tashua Knolls is a town-owned 27-hole facility that welcomes families in a big way. An 18-hole course plus the 9-hole Tashua Glenn gives young players room to grow, and it is recognized by US Kids Golf as a Family Course. Junior programming runs through the Apex Golf Academy, and there is an Adult/Junior Family Special so parent and child can share nine holes at a friendly price.

One last tip: the Yale Golf Course in New Haven is open to the public, but it is a championship-caliber layout, so save it for when your junior's game is ready for a serious test. It makes a great long-term goal to talk about on the drive home.
